SPECapc updates UGS NX benchmark
WARRENTON, Va., September 12, 2007 – SPEC’s Application Performance Characterization (SPECapc) project group has released updated performance evaluation software for systems running UGS’ NX™ digital product development software.
SPECapc for UGS NX 4 includes two new models provided by UGS to represent a broader range of dataset types and sizes. New functionality from UGS NX 4 is also included in the latest benchmark.
Operations tested by SPECapc for UGS NX 4 include loading parts, boolean operations on solids, rotations, zooms, pans, front and back clipping, modifying perspective parameters, full-view generation, and different edge modes. The benchmark records results for graphics, CPU and disk I/O operations, as well as a composite number for total system performance.
“UGS has been a great partner in helping us to develop and release updated benchmarks that benefit the user community, performance testers and developers,” says Dan Bennett, SPECapc chair.
SPECapc for UGS NX 4 is available for free downloading on the SPEC/GWPG web site: www.spec.org/gwpg. The SPECapc group also provides free benchmarks for systems running Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0, Solid Edge V17, SolidWorks 2007, 3ds Max 9, and Maya 6.5.
